Saucy adverts are causing a stir in South manchester over fears that they could be harmful to young people.
Some Chorlton residents have complained that huge billboard posters advertising Club 18-30 holidays encourage promiscuity and ignore the risks of HIV and AIDS. Labour councillor for Chorlton Bernard Selby expressed concern about the overall tone of the advertising campaign.
"I think they are giving the wrong impression to young people. I am not a prude by any means but I think it's wrong for Club 18-30 to sell their holidays using sex," said Mr. Selby, who also felt some of the adverts were degrading to women.
"People have expressed their concern to me that the adverts are sexist, I think the Advertising Standards Authority should do something about it. I would like to to see them withdrawn."
But Club 18-30's marketing manager Becky Impey, thinks the ads are harmless.
She said: "We feel we're selling holidays using humour rather than sex. The campaign is meant to be tongue in cheek. We are trying to appeal to a certain section of the population. The sort of people who like our adverts will probably enjoy our holidays aswell.
"Young people are informed enough these days to decide for themselves whether it is safe to have sex on holiday."
The advertising Standards Authority is investigating over 50 complaints about the Club 18-30 campaign.
